The rule of law and the protection of rights are the tasks of international and national judicial jurisdictions

Judges of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed by Chairman Elvira Azimova, met with the new Chairman of the Court of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC), Lord Burnett, ex-Chairman of the AIFC Court, Lord Mance and Chairman of the International Arbitration Center, Mr. Thomas Krummel.

During the meeting, they discussed issues of further cooperation and support for the exchange of best practices of international and national justice, professional development of employees involved in the organization and preparation of proceedings on appeals of subjects, ensuring access to justice, including using digital technologies and media coverage, support for legal education. "The rule of law and the protection of rights are the tasks of both national and international judicial jurisdictions," stressed Elvira Azimova.

Representatives of the international arbitration body positively assessed the cooperation with the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which has been operating in an updated format for 10 months. They highly appreciated the level of preparation and holding of the International Conference "Constitutional Justice: Dignity, Freedom and Justice for All", held on the initiative of the Constitutional Court in Astana on September 7-8, 2023 (https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/ksrk/press/news/details/614803 ?lang=ru). 

The meeting participants agreed to continue cooperation in five areas:


Assistance to the Kazakh side in organizing study trips to the UK and Germany;


- Discussion of the Eurasian Arbitration Week MAC-2024: on the topic of gross error and miscarriage of justice;
- further promotion of the activities of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the AIFC Court and the IAC in Central Asia;
- organization of a meeting of judges of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the AIFC Court;
- Involvement of the AIFC Court and the IAC to participate in legal reforms in Kazakhstan in order to introduce international best practices.
