The Constitutional Court and the OSCE Program Office in Astana discussed further cooperation

The Chairperson of the Constitutional Court Elvira Azimova met with the Head of the OSCE Program Office in Astana Volker Frobart.

During the meeting, Azimova informed the interlocutor about current situation of appeals to the legal institute and about distinctive features of constitutional proceedings. The parties discussed the issues of involving civil society as a tool for increasing awareness and legal literacy population of and strengthening the quality of appeals as well as equal access to justice for all categories of citizens.

Following the meeting, agreements were reached on the prospects for further cooperation in the field of studying international experience on providing expert opinions when considering the constitutionality of certain norms of laws.
