Implementation of the final decisions of the Constitutional Council was discussed

On December 23, 2022, meeting of the Legal Policy Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the LPC) was held. The meeting discussed the measures taken by state bodies to implement normative resolutions and messages of the Constitutional Council on the constitutional legality in the country.

The Plan includes 18 activities. Among them: the definition the drive’s order in the Code of Administrative Offenses; adoption of additional legislative measures on issues of advocacy and legal assistance; review of the general legal consequences of a criminal record and the termination of criminal prosecution on so-called “non-rehabilitating” grounds; application of law-based restrictive measures only at the level of laws; clarification in the criminal legislation of the purpose of committing acts of self-mutilation by convicts; ensuring the semantic identity of the texts of legislative acts in the Kazakh and Russian languages, and others.
