ISSUES OF THE ELECTORAL SYSTEM WERE DISCUSSED

On July 1, 2021, members of the Constitutional Council Rahmet Mukashev and Unzila Shapak took part in an online International conference on the topic: «Constitutional and legal bases for holding presidential elections: the experience of Uzbekistan and foreign countries».

The event was organized by the National Center for Human Rights, the Institute of State and Law, the Center for Sustainable Development, the Khokimiyat of the Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan, the OSCE, UNDP and the Swiss Embassy in Uzbekistan.

During the event, reports were presented on the constitutional principles of the organization and conduct of presidential elections, as well as representatives of different countries shared their experience in this matter.

The event was also attended by representatives of state bodies, non-governmental organizations, the legal community of Uzbekistan, as well as experts from foreign countries.
