NEW ADMINISTRATIVE JUSTICE OF KAZAKHSTAN

On June 2, 2021, a round table was held entitled: "New Administrative Justice of Kazakhstan".

The event was organized online by the Ministry of Justice in cooperation with the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation and the Institute Sorbonne-Kazakhstan.

Chairman of the Constitutional Council Kairat Mami addressed the forum participants with a welcoming speech, in which he noted that we are now on the verge of introducing a new institution - administrative justice. This topic has been discussed in Kazakhstan for more than fifteen years and last year the Administrative Procedural and Process-related Code was adopted. Its development took into account the experience of European countries, which have great potential in this area. In many countries, administrative justice has become an effective guarantee of protecting the citizens’ rights from illegal actions of executive bodies.

From the outset, our administrative courts should show adherence to principles, pay special attention to the observance of the principles of the new form of legal proceedings. It is important to summarize timely judicial practice and ensure its uniformity, summed up Kairat Mami.

The round table was also attended by Director of the Institute of Law, Economics and Government of the University of Lorraine (France) Pierre Tiefin, Director of the Program of the German Society for International Cooperation “Promotion of Legal Statehood in Central Asian Countries” Judge Jörg Pudelka, Doctor of Law, Professor of the University of Latvia Gunārs Kūtris, representatives of the Supreme Court, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Akim's Office of Almaty, the Bar Association of Nur-Sultan and the national volunteer movement "Accelerator of Good: Izgilik elshisi".
