THE INTERNATIONAL FORUM DEDICATED TO THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF ACADEMICIAN S. Z. ZIMANOV

 On January  29, 2021 Chairman of the Constitutional Council K. Mami took part in the work of international scientifically-practical conference entitled “Academician S. Z. Zimanov: Life and Scientific Achievements” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Doctor of Law,  professor, academician of the National Academy of Science S. Z. Zimanov.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the Institute of Legislation and Legal Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan in an online format.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, the Chairman of the Constitutional Council Kairat Mami noticed that Salyk aga, who would be 100 years old this year was a national hero, a genius scientist, a legendary person, who caught Alashorda and absorbed its ideas. As a talented lawyer who devoted his entire life to a comprehensive study of the intricacies of legal relations, he made an invaluable contribution to the formation of the state mechanism of independent Kazakhstan. Salyk Zimanovich stood at the origins of the formation of legal science and the field of training legal specialists in the country. Obviously, his scientific path in the future will be determined by the intellectual imperative - "Zimanov's path." In the scientific biography of Salyk Zimanovich there are many works dedicated to the theory and improvement of the Constitution. These ideas were implemented on the initiative of the Leader of Nation when amending the Constitution in 2007 and 2017, K. Mami summed up.

Welcoming remark to forum participants were made by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Beketayev, Deputy Head of the Center for Public Law Research of the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation Yuri Tikhomirov, Deputy Executive Director of the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation, member of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe Igor Rogov, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhakip Asanov, adviser of the Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management Alexander Novikov and others.

Also, the members of the Constitutional Council V. Malinovskiy, A. Temerbekov, U. Shapak shared their opinions.

The forum was attended by deputies of the Parliament, representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Supreme Court, the General Prosecutor's Office, state bodies, international and non-governmental organizations, educational institutions, the scientific community of Kazakhstan.
