International Scientific and Practical Conference “Olzhas Suleimenov - Poet and Citizen.”

On May 19, 2021, an International Scientific and Practical Conference entitled “Olzhas Suleimenov - Poet and Citizen” was held online, dedicated to the anniversary of the poet and writer, scientist, statesman and public figure Olzhas Omarovich Suleimenov.

The event was organized by the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In his welcoming speech, the Chairman of the Constitutional Council Kairat Mami noted that Olzhas Omarovich is our great contemporary! As a poet of a philosophical outlook, he became a legend during his lifetime, glorifying his people and culture. He managed to bring into the common human heritage the history of our ancestors’ contacts with other peoples, cultures, religions.

The conference was attended by representatives of State bodies, public figures, national and foreign scientists, poets, writers, artists, members of public organizations, experts and leaders of the scientific community.
