Today, the Office of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which served as the secretariat of the Constitutional Reform Commission, transferred the Commission’s documents and records for permanent state preservation to the Presidential Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The transfer ceremony was attended by Bibigul Assylova, Head of the Office of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aliya Mustafina, Director of the Presidential Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The collection transferred for permanent preservation includes documents reflecting the preparation of the draft of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including records and transcripts of the Commission’s plenary sessions, working group meetings, and expert consultations, as well as expert opinions, analytical materials, photographic, video, and audio records, and approximately 12,000 public submissions containing proposals for the draft Basic Law.
The transfer of these materials is of significant national importance. They constitute a documentary record of the preparation of the new Constitution, which was adopted by a nationwide referendum on 15 March 2026 and entered into force on 1 July 2026, marking the beginning of a new stage in the development of Kazakhstan’s statehood.
The transferred materials have been incorporated into the National Archival Fund of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Their preservation in the Presidential Archive will ensure the safeguarding of this documentary heritage and facilitate its use for scientific research, academic study, educational purposes, and historical documentation.
