The Ybyray Altynsarin House of Books in Astana hosted a solemn presentation of the book “The Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Children,” timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the country's Basic Law. The project was initiated by the Almatykitap Baspasy publishing house, and the book was compiled by public figure Bakhyt Ospanova.

The book was prepared with the support of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is recommended for use in schools by the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Education Content Assessment.

The publication is intended for children aged 7-12 and explains in an accessible and engaging way the significance of the Constitution and laws, the process of their adoption, the historical legal traditions of the Kazakh steppe, and the role of the modern Basic Law.

Separate chapters are devoted to state symbols, the rights and obligations of children, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The final part of the book is an interactive game called “Journey through the Land of the Constitution” using a map, cards, and puzzles.

As part of the presentation, schoolchildren prepared creative performances, including a play entitled “Abai and the Constitution,” and held a quiz entitled “The Constitution and the Wisdom of Abai.”

The event was attended by representatives of the Constitutional Court, central and local government bodies, the teaching community, as well as the Children's Rights Ombudsman, schoolchildren, and parents.

Constitutional Court Judge Aizhan Zhatkanbaeva noted that the book is an important tool for fostering a culture of law among the younger generation. According to her, knowledge of the basics of the Constitution is a necessary condition for the safe and successful life of a child and the basis for the formation of a responsible citizen. She also stressed that the Constitutional Court always supports initiatives aimed at developing constitutional literacy and respect for the values of the Basic Law.
