Knowledge and skills for professional work

Epidemiologists of the Department, city and district departments for quality control and safety of goods and services of Akmola region passed a practical-theoretical training seminar on the topic "Safe work with COVID-19 patients" organized by leading scientists of the Masgut Aikimbaev National Scientific Center for Highly Dangerous Infections.

The high professional level of the speakers, including Andrei Dmitrovsky and Marat Syzdykov, Andrei Kuznetsov, Tatyana Lyatomskaya, based on the latest scientific discoveries, conducted a training course in the areas of etiology, epidemiology, diagnosis, and prevention of COVID-19.

Information on the routes and factors of transmission of infection, assessment of the risks of infection and the use of PPE was systematically taught. Special attention was required to develop practical skills in the collection, packaging and transportation of clinical materials potentially contaminated with SARS-CoV-2 to the laboratory.

The participants of the seminar noted the practical value of the information received and the skills necessary for use in further sanitary and epidemiological activities in the region.
