On the basis of the Branch of the National Center for Expertise of the KKKBTU of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Akmola region, an excess of nitrates was found in vegetables and fruits during the study.

For the 1st half of 2020 out of 1591 samples of agricultural plants, the laboratory found 32 positive results. According to experts, the most positive results in terms of nitrate content were found in beets, onions, pears and tangerines.

The indicator of the content of nitrates in beets with an allowable level of no more than 1400 mg / kg was 1413 mg / kg (1-fold excess). The indicator for onions reached 90 mg / kg (an excess of 1.12 times), in pears the indicator was 70 mg / kg (an excess of 1.16 times), the indicator for tangerine was 71 mg / kg (an excess of 1.18 times).

It should be noted that the group of increased risk of damage to the body by nitrate compounds includes young children, persons suffering from diseases of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, pregnant women, elderly people who, without exposure to nitric or nitrous acid salts, have insufficient oxygen supply to organs and tissues. ...

In addition, an increased amount of nitrates disrupts metabolism, weakens the immune system, the nervous system, and also with a regular intake of nitrates in the body, the amount of iodine decreases.
