The resolution of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aizhan Esmagambetova dated April 14, 2023 No. 3 "On the implementation of sanitary, anti-epidemic and sanitary and preventive measures" (hereinafter - DCSSD No. 3) was issued.
The requirements for vaccination against coronavirus infection (hereinafter referred to as CVI) have been updated taking into account the circulation of the Omicron strain of COVID-19, which continues to be the dominant variant circulating throughout the world, accounting for 99.8% of the studied samples in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
To date, thanks to vaccination against CVI, herd immunity for CVI has been achieved, which has made it possible to stabilize the epidemiological situation for this infection.
In this regard, in order to further stabilize the incidence of CVI, maintain the level of collective protection and provide access to vaccination for Kazakhstanis, more than 500,000 doses of the Komirnati/Omicron BA.4-5 (Pfizer) vaccine were delivered to the country as part of humanitarian aid from Slovakia.
In order to organize and conduct revaccination using the above vaccine, SGGP No. 3 provides for the requirements for revaccination against CVI using the Komirnati/Omicron BA.4-5 vaccine (Pfizer).
