Results of activities carried out by the Department for Compliance with Price Limits for Medicines

On the territory of Aktobe region there are 13 pharmacy warehouses, 369 pharmacies (in the city of Aktobe - 277, in the districts - 90), 40 pharmacy points and 9 pharmaceutical industries.

Due to the shortage of medicines in late June-early July and the rise in prices for some medicines, on July 17, 2020, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in the region on the wholesale and retail sale of medicines. The memorandum was signed by the Department, Akimat of Aktobe region, Association for support and development of pharmaceutical activities of the region, as well as entities that are not members of the Association.

The memorandum deals with the issues of dispensing medicines by prescription, retail sale of prescription and non-prescription medicines for a course of treatment, as well as compliance with the maximum retail price.

To date, in the Aktobe region, the situation in the provision of medicines and medical products has been stabilized. Due to the decrease in the incidence of CVI and pneumonia and the streamlined process of drug supply to pharmacy chains, the demand for drugs and medical products has been regulated.

For the convenience of the population, there are leaflets in pharmacies with maximum prices for the 5 most popular medicines. The price limits for other medicines can be found by the QR code located at the checkout. In addition, the leaflets indicate the Department numbers (557518, 557519), which customers can use to complain about the excess of the price limit, as well as the quality and safety of medicines.

Information on the maximum retail prices for medicines can also be obtained through the dari.kz mobile application.

The Department monitors retail prices on an ongoing basis.
