Since 2020, the list of information providers to the First Credit Bureau has been replenished by subjects of natural monopolies providing utilities. During this period, they transferred the data of about 100 thousand debtors to the PKB.

The data is updated every 30 days. Thus, a certain discipline of repayment of debt on utilities is formed, because debts for utilities, along with debt on loans, are displayed in the credit history of citizens, inbusiness reports.kz with a link to the PCB.

They noted that it is important for financial organizations to take into account any information about the borrower's accounts receivable. Often excellent borrowers have debts for utilities.

According to PKB statistics, every fifth debtor repays the debt in full or in part immediately after the information about the debt is reflected in the credit report. Utilities use this opportunity as an additional tool for debt collection, which by mid-2021 already amounted to 15.4 billion tenge across the country and has growth trends.

"The legal side of the issue has also been settled. According to the current legislation, the obligation to obtain consent to provide information about debt to the credit bureau is excluded for natural monopolies (SEM) entities, and the obligation to provide information to the PKB is also introduced," the organization noted.

The First Credit Bureau recommends that citizens check their credit history at least twice a year. This habit, at a minimum, will allow you to monitor your "credit health", as well as other debts that may be in the databases of utility providers, having a significant impact on the decision of creditors to issue a loan.
