A large forest fire was extinguished in the Kostanay region

On July 10, at 12.50 o'clock, a large forest fire was extinguished on the territory of the Prigorodnoye forestry Department in the Kostanay district, 30 km from the city of Tobyl.

The fire started on July 8 at 10.40 am. There was a fire of dry grass, pine and birch trunks. Extinguishing the fire was complicated by a strong gusty wind and dry hot weather.

The forces and means of the emergency department, forestry, local executive bodies and the police entered the fight against the fire.

A MI-8 helicopter of Kazaviaspas JSC of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan with spillway equipment was attracted to protect the forest area from riding fire. The rescue helicopter made 60 air drops, the volume of water discharged was about 200 tons.

The preliminary fire area is 300 hectares. The cause of the fire is being established.

Localization was announced on July 9 at 21.00 hours, by lunch the next day the fire was completely extinguished. There are no victims or injured.

315 people and more than 40 pieces of equipment were involved in the elimination of the forest fire.
