A forest fire is being extinguished in Kostanay district

On July 8, 2021, at 10.40 am, in the Kostanay district, on the territory of the Prigorodnoye Forestry Department, dry grass, pine and birch fragments caught fire. The fifth class of fire danger has been established. The preliminary area is about 300 hectares.

Hot dry weather, riding fire and strong wind only contribute to the spread of fire and complicate extinguishing.

The fire extinguishing involved the forces and means of the Emergency Department of the Kostanay region 54 employees and 15 units of equipment, local executive bodies 50 employees and 3 units of equipment, the Forestry Department 36 employees and 9 units of equipment, cadets of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs 120 people and 2 units of equipment, the police Department of the Kostanay region 45 employees and 6 units of equipment.

An operational headquarters has been established at the site of the emergency. Aerial reconnaissance is being conducted.
