Preventive maintenance of gas equipment

Preventive maintenance of gas equipment

Preventive maintenance of balloon and tank installations is carried out by the enterprise "Gas Economy". This is one of the most important measures to ensure the safe operation of the equipment of balloon and tank installations, therefore, schedules should be drawn up for all types of work on the maintenance of liquefied gas installations, and the direct execution of the work is entrusted to specially trained maintenance personnel.
The scope of preventive maintenance of installations includes checking the condition of gas equipment, the level and pressure of liquefied gas in it, as well as equipment inspection.
Maintenance personnel (locksmiths), who are assigned individual and group balloon installations, as well as tank installations, are required to check the condition of the equipment according to schedules and perform the following basic work:
1) identify and eliminate gas leakage in the fittings of the tank head and in the places where the cylinders are attached to the ramp;
2) monitor the gas pressure in the yard networks or in front of the devices using a liquid pressure gauge;
3) check the setting of the pressure regulator and the serviceability of the safety valves;
4) monitor the liquid level in the tanks and take measures to fill them;
5) check the availability and completeness of fire equipment;
6) control the color of casings and fences, cabinets for cylinders, the presence of locks on the doors;
7) check with soap emulsion (under pressure) the density of connections on the strapping of tanks and cylinders, eliminate detected malfunctions;
8) monitor the reliability of the installation of balloon cabinets and correct the shortcomings noted;
9) replace worn-out parts of gas equipment;
10) to service underground gas pipelines from group installations of liquefied gas.
Such works as checking the density, eliminating gas leaks and monitoring the gas pressure are carried out 3 times a month. When heavy residues accumulate in the tanks of group installations, they must be removed.
Special attention should be paid to the operation of pressure regulators in winter. A serious violation is the freezing of the pressure regulator in the presence of wet gas. To prevent the regulators from freezing, it is necessary to prevent moisture from entering the tanks. If the regulators freeze, then methyl alcohol must be introduced into them at the rate of 1.3 liters per 1000 liters of tank capacity. When the regulators freeze, you can also warm them up with a hot towel.
The discharge of gas into tanks and the replacement of cylinders in group installations should be carried out, as a rule, during the daytime. When draining gas, it is not allowed to overflow the tanks beyond the set level (85% of the geometric capacity of the tanks). When draining liquefied gases from tankers, it is prohibited to operate the engine of cars, smoking, as well as the presence of an open fire near the installation.
