Suspension of operation of hazardous production facilities of the Steel Department of JSC "ArcelorMittal Temirtau"

This year, the inspection staff of the Karaganda Department of the Industrial Safety Committee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan conducted a special inspection of the Steel Department of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC in the period from April 5 to 23.

During the inspection, for gross violations of industrial safety requirements that pose a threat to human life and health, the inspection staff, in accordance with paragraph 4 of Article 39 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Civil Protection", issued an Act on the prohibition or suspension of the activities of 20 hazardous production facilities of the Steel Department of JSC "ArcelorMittal Temirtau", with the filing of a claim to the Specialized Interdistrict Economic Court of the city of Karaganda.

By the court decision of 02.08.2021 No. 3514-21-00-2/168702.08.2021, the claim was satisfied in respect of 19 hazardous production facilities:

1) converter No. 1 of the Converter shop;

2) blast furnace gas pipeline Ø3020 reg.No. 31 of the Gas shop;

3) blast furnace gas pipeline Ø3020 reg.No. 50 of the Gas shop;

4) FV-500 electrolyzer No. 2 of the Oxygen shop;

5) FV-500 electrolyzer No. 5 of the Oxygen shop;

6) Hydro NEL A-485 electrolyzer No. 4 of the Oxygen shop;

7) steel filling bucket No. 50 of the Converter shop;

8) steel filling bucket No. 60 of the Converter shop;

9) metallurgical bucket No. 3 of the Converter shop;

10) metallurgical bucket No. 6 of the Converter shop;

11) metallurgical bucket No. 2 of the Converter shop;

12) metallurgical bucket No. 4 of the Converter shop;

13) metallurgical bucket No. 5 of the Converter shop;

14) double-detachable machine No. 11 of the Coke shop No. 2;

15) coke pusher No. 9 of Coke shop No. 2;

16) coke pusher No. 10 of Coke shop No. 2;

17) double-detachable machine No. 10 of the Coke shop No. 2;

18) foundry electric bridge crane No. 15, reg. No. 6453 of the Converter shop;

19) electric bridge crane reg. No. 6632 of the Koprov shop.
