"A Clean Country is a Strong Region: Taza Kazakhstan in Kostanay Region"

The program "Taza Kazakhstan", initiated in early April 2024 by the President of the country K.-Zh. Tokayev, is continued to be supported by Kostanay residents on a large scale. The goal of this initiative is to increase environmental awareness of the population and improve the state of the environment in various regions of the region.

As part of the program, the region continues to hold creative, large-scale events: educational events, round tables, seminars, etc., aimed at increasing environmental awareness of citizens.

Cooperation with local enterprises and public organizations plays an important role in the implementation of the program. Thus, representatives of the business community, youth, athletes and ethnocultural associations actively participate in the events.

On May 15, 2025, an ecological run along the Tobol River took place in the city of Rudny, organized within the framework of the republican program "Taza Kazakhstan" on the initiative of the State Institution "Rudny City Department of Physical Culture and Sports". About 50 people took part in the coastal cleanup event — coaches, instructors, athletes and sports veterans of the city.

The run became not just a sports event, but a symbol of a responsible attitude to nature, combining the ideas of a healthy lifestyle and environmental awareness.

— In Rudny, cleanup days and landscaping works are regularly held, which helps to foster a love for nature in the younger generation, respect for work and responsibility for their actions. We, as athletes, know that a clean environment is the key to health and high physical activity. Therefore, we must set an example of caring for nature, — noted sports veteran, participant of the ecological run, S.N. Pariseeva.

The ecological run became a vivid confirmation of the fact that sports and ecology are inextricably linked concepts. Caring for human health begins with caring for the cleanliness of the surrounding world, and participation in such events is a manifestation of an active civic position.

The athletes called on all residents of Rudniy and the city of Kazakhstan to actively participate in environmental initiatives, clean-up days, and landscaping work, since "Taza Kazakhstan" is a manifestation of true patriotism.

A plogging marathon was held on the banks of the Togay River in the Dzhangeldinsky District as part of the republican environmental program "Taza Kazakhstan". The organizers were local executive bodies together with volunteer organizations and public associations.

Plogging is a modern format of an environmental event that combines jogging and garbage collection. The marathon participants, armed with gloves and bags, covered a pre-prepared route along the coastline, collecting household waste and other garbage accumulated in nature.

About 100 people took part in the event - representatives of youth organizations, activists, schoolchildren, students, employees of the akimat and residents of nearby settlements. Particular attention was paid to environmental education: before the event, the participants were told about the harm of environmental pollution, the need to sort waste, and the importance of each person's personal contribution to preserving nature.

Upon completion of the plogging marathon, more than 50 bags of garbage were collected. All waste was transferred for further sorting and removal by specialized services.

"This is not just a run. When you clean up trash with your own hands, you start to treat nature differently. I want such events to become regular - they are good for your health and for the environment," one of the participants, a college student from the village of Torgai, shared his impressions.
