Akim of Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov paid a working visit to Karasuk district.

During the trip, the head of the region got acquainted with the progress of laying a drainage canal from Lake Alabota.

As a result of the spring flood of this year, a lake (Tyuntyugur, Koibagar, Alabata and small lakes Besyugan, Zhanshura) was united in the district, the total area of the spill is 621.7 square kilometers.

In order to eliminate the spill and divert meltwater into the Kunduzdy River, water is pumped along the Kostanay –Karasu highway.

On July 3 of this year, a decision was made on the construction of a diversion channel, special equipment in the form of 8 units of excavators, 5 units of freight transport and 2 units of a bulldozer is currently involved in the work.

To date, about 2,150 meters have been covered in total, up to 13.7 meters deep and up to 46 meters wide.

The completion date for the project is scheduled until October 20 of this year.
