Head of the regional department of construction, architecture and town planning Nurlan Katarbekov during an operational meeting reported that according to the results of the current year, 290.9 thousand square meters of housing or 3,273 apartments will be built in Kostanay and its suburbs. He also reported that this year, across the region, within the framework of Nurly Zher Housing Construction Program, 290.9 thousand square meters of housing will be built from all sources of financing or 10 percent higher than the level of the last year. This rental housing without a purchase option – 462 apartments, credit housing through the bonds of local executive bodies – 1,126 apartments, as well as commercial housing and private housing construction – 1,685 apartments.

“Now 227.6 thousand square meters have been put into operation. It is planned to put into commission the remaining square meters by the end of the year, it is due for completion of the 10 multi-storey residential buildings with a total area of ​​55.3 thousand square meters. “1.5 billion tenge were allocated in the region to construct the rental housing for vulnerable social groups in 2018. The construction of four rental houses out of 5 planned or 264 apartments was completed during the reporting period”, the head of the construction department explained, “Two 198 apartments-rental houses in the amount of 1 billion 436 million tenge will be commissioned in December 2018.”

Akim of the region Archimed Mukhambetov noted the high rates of construction and housing construction, in particular, rental housing. “This year we rent out four rental houses. Bayterek Development JSC redeemed state securities of local executive bodies for the sum of 8.5 billion tenge. The final tranche for the sum of 2 billion tenge is expected to be paid in November of this year after completion of all procedures for bonds issue. It is planned to construct 40 multi-storey buildings, 17 buildings or 1042 apartments of which have been constructed and put into operation over 9 months of this. By the end of the year we plan to put into operation 3 buildings or 295 apartments,” N. Katarbekov concluded.
