In the southern and western regions of the region, there is an active development of gregarious locust pests

This year, in the Kostanay region, mainly in the southern and western regions, there has been an active development of gregarious locust pests.
To get acquainted with the situation and monitor the progress of anti-locust measures, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin visited the fields of agricultural production facilities in the southern regions of the region.
“Anti-locust measures will be carried out in 15 of the 17 districts of the region,” noted akim of the Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov. -
“To treat the fields and prevent the massive spread of pests throughout the region, the necessary supply of pesticides was delivered in advance.”
At least 72 units of equipment will be involved in chemical treatments.
Also, as part of supporting the agro-industrial complex, the government plans to additionally deliver more than 20 spraying drones to the region.
This measure is aimed at creating favorable conditions for timely and effective spring field work and harvesting without loss.
