In the southern districts of Kostanay region, houses are being built for flood victims, among them 68 houses in Amangeldy and Dzhangeldy districts, as well as a 50–apartment building in Arkalyk. In total, 118 families will receive the keys to their new housing. Comprehensive and maximum assistance to victims is provided in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State.
Today, Akim of Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov inspected the progress of construction of new housing. "It is important to note that the flood relief program continues to be implemented. All families left without housing will be provided with the necessary assistance.
Thanks to the coordinated work of the authorities, business and local residents, the consequences of the flood will be eliminated as soon as possible," Aksakalov said.
A large Salauatov family from the village of Tauysh, raising seven children, will celebrate a housewarming party in a new house in July this year.
"They didn't leave us in trouble, they helped us - this is very important. It is important to feel that you are not left alone with your problem," says Anar Salauatova, the owner of the future house, without hiding her emotions.
A resident of the same village, whose house was also not spared by the elements, made a fateful decision for his family. Having lived all his life in his native village, aksakal, along with his wife and grandson, moved to the city. A three-room apartment was purchased for him in the city of Arkalyk.
"Our grandson needs to get a higher education, and already we felt it necessary to be with him at this moment," Novosel shares his plans for urban life.
And in the village of Kolkamys, Dzhangeldy district, the flood destroyed 19 houses and hundreds of kilometers of roads. Until recently, everything vital to residents was delivered by helicopter. Today, a remote southern village is experiencing a rebirth.
All 19 houses for the victims are already at the stage of wall construction. By July, the new settlers will move into new houses.
37 settlements in the southern regions were deprived of light by the flood, destroying 989 pillars.
To date, power supply has been restored according to a temporary scheme in 31 settlements. The remaining 6 have diesel generators. A contractor for the restoration of electrical equipment has been identified.
