Sowing campaign in Kostanay region: a confident step towards a rich harvest

Kostanay region, being one of the main grain-growing regions of the country, has entered the active phase of the sowing campaign. The work is carried out around the clock, covering an impressive area. This year, oilseed crops have been expanded by 13.7%, and special attention is being paid to socially significant crops such as buckwheat (20 thousand hectares) and potatoes (4.9 thousand hectares in agricultural enterprises). Forage crops also occupy a considerable area: annual grasses will be grown on 95 thousand hectares.
Akim of the region Kumar Aksakalov is confident that with the support of the state, which is expressed in the uninterrupted supply of fuel and lubricants, the conclusion of contracts for the supply of mineral fertilizers and a number of other measures, the sowing campaign will be completed on time. All conditions for a good harvest this year have been created.
Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov, who arrived in the region on a working trip, got acquainted with the progress of the sowing campaign, and also held a number of meetings with the leadership of the region and farmers. At the meeting, where issues of combating herd locusts were discussed, Aksakalov noted that in 2024 129 surveyors will be involved against harmful and especially dangerous pests, and the total planned area of surveys will be 14.2 hectares.
Anti-locust measures will be carried out in the territories of 15 districts out of 17. The largest volume of treatments is planned in the Naurzum, Kamystinsky, Zhangeldinsky and Amangeldy districts. At least 72 units of equipment will be used this year.
The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan highly appreciated the progress of the sowing campaign in Kostanay region and expressed confidence that the region will achieve good results this year.
