Investments in the future: Kostanay region improves the quality of roads

Today, under the chairmanship of the akim of the Kostanay region, Kumar Aksakalov, a meeting of the regional akimat was held, where issues of construction and installation work in the road industry in 2024 and the end of the heating season and preparation for the upcoming one were discussed.
Funding for the local road network is showing steady growth. This year, the road industry budget allocated for the repair of local and national roads exceeded 63 billion tenge, which is 13% more than last year. This will make it possible to repair about 1,400 kilometers of public roads and 371 streets in populated areas.
The implementation of this plan has already begun. Over the next three years, repair work will cover all settlements in the region.
Particular attention is paid to the arrangement of pedestrian zones. For the first time this year, about 1 billion tenge has been allocated for these purposes. It is planned to equip about 35 kilometers of sidewalks not only in rural areas, but also in the cities of the region.
“In general, a large-scale work package is planned for 2024. In accordance with the instructions of the Head of State, by 2025 the share of roads in the region that are in good and satisfactory condition will reach 95%,” noted the regional akim.
Work continues to fulfill the instructions of the Head of State, according to which by 2029 it is necessary to reduce the wear and tear of heat supply to 43%.
In this regard, funding for this area increases annually. So, last year the amount was increased 7 times and amounted to 13.7 billion tenge. More than 20 km of heating networks were laid, as a result, wear decreased from 49.9% to 47.4%.
This year, more than 8 billion tenge have already been allocated for the implementation of heat supply projects for the implementation of 6 projects.
The main indicator of proper work in the heat supply sector is a decrease in incoming complaints from the population, as well as a decrease in recorded violations.
