Akim of Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov got acquainted with the progress of work to eliminate the consequences of floods in the Amangeldinsky and Zhangeldinsky districts.

Destruction of the roadway:
On the regional highway “Arkaly-Torgay” (in the area of the village of Tauish) two washouts were recorded:
* at 228 km, with a width of 50 to 100 meters and a depth of 150-200 cm;
* at 239 km, similar width and depth.
From 17:00 on April 11, 2024, traffic for all types of transport in this area is limited.
Humanitarian assistance:
12 tons of humanitarian aid, including food and essential goods, were delivered to residents of the Dzharkol rural district.
Since the beginning of the flooding, 23 generators have been sent to the village of Tauish, providing electricity to peasant farms and the remaining residents.
There is no need for additional generators or food products.
Restoring power supply:
As of April 17, 2024, power supply has been restored in 29 settlements.
160 people and 52 pieces of equipment were involved in the restoration work.
During the flood in the region, 1,414 power transmission towers were damaged, of which 52 were high-voltage.
Since the beginning of the flood, 54 settlements have been without electricity.
At the moment, power supply has been restored in all major settlements.
25 small villages have limited power supply, 11 of them are still without power.
Lack of power supply (as of April 17, 2024):
* Arkalyk city: 2 rural settlements (Ekidin, Kyzylzhuldyz);
* Amangeldinsky district: 1 settlement (Kabyrga);
* Zhangeldinsky district: 8 rural settlements (Sarysu, Tentexai, Tokanai, Yuzhny, Akkol, Tuyemoynak, Akshyganak, Taush).
The regional akim set specific tasks for the heads of relevant departments to quickly eliminate the consequences of the flood. Residents of the affected areas continue to receive all necessary assistance. Active work is underway to restore damaged infrastructure in order to return populated areas to normal life as quickly as possible.
