TRAFFIC IS BEING OPENED ON ANOTHER KOSTANAY BRIDGE AFTER FLOODS

It is planned to resume movement for passenger transport along one of the main transport bridges of Kostanay on April 12.
The bridge is planned to be opened for freight transport early next week. The forced pause in his work is due to the fact that after the flood, the bridge in the KZHBI area should dry up and be ready to receive heavy equipment.
Now a special commission has been established in Kostanay region, which is engaged in the inspection of roads after the flood, including bridges.
"Today we are conducting a survey of the roadway and the damage after the water passing on the bridge. At the moment, the destruction of ten lighting poles has been recorded, high-voltage supports have also been damaged. There was a blurring of the base under the sidewalks, that is, they are now in some places hanging in the air. The barrier fences were washed away. waterlogging of the base and the landbed was noted. The asphalt concrete pavement was lifted by the passing wave. Everything that affects road safety will be eliminated," said Rafis Zinetov, head of the branch of the RSE at the National Center for Quality of Road Assets in Kostanay region.
According to Andrey Gorvat, director of KazAvtoZhol CF, the bridge is designed for 4260 cubic meters per second. It is necessary to understand that now the canvas is soaked with water, it is necessary that at least a little moisture goes away. We will launch passenger transport tomorrow, but freight is still dangerous. This is a necessary measure, I want to apologize to the drivers, but we need to be patient a little more. By Monday, everything will dry out and freight transport will also go.
In turn, the contractor KF Kazhservice LLP is currently busy cleaning up the debris brought by the current, restoring the railings. All these works are extremely important for traffic safety.
As Nurgali Makhmutov, director of Kazhservice CF LLP, noted, first of all, it is necessary to ensure safe and uninterrupted passage of road users, therefore, the start of cars will be controlled.
The bridge in the KZHBI area was built from 2010 to 2013. The bridge crossings have been in service for 50 years before major repairs, the bridge is considered young by the standards of specialists and is in good condition.
