To date, we can say that the peak of floods has been passed.
There is a decrease in water discharge at the main reservoirs.
Thus, at the Karatomar reservoir, where the historical maximum of water discharge was recorded, it decreased by 660 m3/sec and amounted to 2,640 m3/sec.
Also, a decrease in discharge is observed in the Verkhne-Tobolsk and Zhelkuarsky reservoirs. The water level in the rivers continues to decrease.
At the hydrological post located above the Verkhne-Tobolsk reservoir on the Tobol River, a decrease of 56 cm per day was recorded. There is a decrease of 63 cm on the Ayat River.
In general, the situation in the region is gradually stabilizing. For example, the decrease in water levels on the Tuntyugur, Kunduzdy and Karasu rivers in the Karasu district ranged from 17 to 127 cm per day.
There is still a high level on the Torgai, Damdy and Kabyrga rivers in the southern part of the region. On the other rivers, there is mainly a decrease in water levels.
We have already started work on providing assistance to all flood victims.
One-time social payments have begun, as well as sponsorship and humanitarian assistance.
To date, social assistance has been paid to 587 families in the amount of 107.3 million tenge.
There is no electricity supply in 28 settlements due to flooding. To date, the supports are in the water, which makes it difficult to restore them, as soon as the water leaves, the work will continue.
During the floods, traffic was restricted on 24 highways, traffic has already been restored on 9 roads, and work continues on the rest.
Work is also continuing to assess the damage caused.
I want to express my gratitude to my fellow countrymen, to all those who are not indifferent, who are with us these days.
The current flood situation has united all residents of the region. This, my dear fellow countrymen, is expensive! In the traditions of the people of Kazakhstan, the sense of belonging, the desire to help those in need is always passed down from generation to generation.
From the very first days, civil servants, state employees, rescuers, law enforcement officers were joined by concerned citizens, volunteers, members of the APK, employees of private organizations. In total, a large number of volunteers and volunteer rescuers were involved throughout the region, in each region.
I myself witnessed how our fellow citizens showed their best qualities, initiative, and performed good deeds.
Forgetting about business, your own interests, and, sometimes, your health, you rushed to the rescue. We worked for several days on strengthening works, believing and hoping that your every action is important and extremely necessary here and now. The contribution of those who delivered food packages to the victims, organized hot meals and tea for the staff on duty at night is also invaluable.
Thank you for the fact that in a single impulse we were a mighty human force in the face of the onslaught of the natural elements. Each of us, the whole society realized and felt that we are together.
