Today, Akim of Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov held a meeting of the operational headquarters on floods.
During the meeting, akims of districts and cities reported on the current situation in the regions. The heads of law enforcement agencies and departments reported on the ongoing work in their areas.
In the southern regions of the region, where a state of emergency has been declared, work is underway to evacuate people from flood zones, provide them with food and temporary housing. Preventive measures are being carried out in areas under threat of flooding.
The governor of the region instructed the mayors of cities and districts:
To ensure the readiness of forces and means to respond promptly to emergency situations.
Create stocks of fuels and lubricants, inert materials, food, medicines, basic necessities, as well as motor pumps and watercraft.
To ensure daily monitoring of the condition of hydraulic structures.
