A large bank appealed to Kazakhstanis

Kazakhstanis never cease to surprise with their naivety and send messages about possible payments and promotions. This time, a fraudulent newsletter appeared in Telegram, in which the user is promised a payment of 50 thousand tenge from a large bank, reports Zakon.kz .
According to the newsletter, the promotion is supposedly valid for several weeks, and in order to receive funds, you need to click on the referral link. Stopfake specialists.kz emphasizes that there is no information about payments on the official website of Halyk Bank. There is also nothing like this on the bank's social media pages.
The customer support service emphasizes that these are scammers: "Always be vigilant and do not disclose card details, SMS codes and other confidential information. Fraudsters can present themselves on behalf of various banks."
It is worth noting that the link placed in the advertisement leads to an unknown site. This is a phishing link. Attackers gain access to confidential user information in this way. They become aware of usernames and passwords from private accounts, mobile banking, etc.
"The newsletter on behalf of Halyk Bank about a payment in the amount of 50 thousand tenge is a fake," the conclusion says. In mid-January 2024, analysts noted that the number of frauds and fraudsters is growing in Kazakhstan, and the number of victims of such crimes is also growing.
