Akim of Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov visited a wind farm in Arkalyk

Today, Akim of Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov visited a wind farm in the city of Arkalyk. The station was put into operation in early December 2023.
The effect of the operation of the wind farm will have a positive impact on improving the reliability of energy supply, reducing carbon dioxide into the environment and supplying the region with electricity.
Taking into account the role that electricity plays in human life, today it is planned to implement a number of investment projects that will improve the quality of electricity supply to the city of Arkalyk, Amangeldy and Dzhangeldy districts.
Currently, in the southern region of Kostanay region, the level of deterioration of power lines and electrical equipment is 93%. In this regard, at the moment, the issue of reconstruction of the power supply system of the city of Arkalyk, Amangeldinsky and Dzhangeldinsky districts is being worked out. In 2023, design and estimate documentation was developed for the reconstruction of 37.8 km of power supply networks, 3 substations and 4 distribution points in the city of Arkalyk.
"We plan to submit this project for clarification of the republican budget of 2024 after receiving a positive expert opinion. Similar events are planned in Amangelda and Dzhangelda districts," the governor of the region noted.
In addition to traditional energy sources, projects in the field of renewable energy sources are being implemented in the city of Arkalyk. 10 vectrogenerating power plants have been installed at the production site, auxiliary structures have been erected, and power lines to the Vostochnoye substation have been built.
The investors of this project are KazWindEnergy LLP. The contracting organization of UniksStroy LLP is the city of Almaty. The project was implemented in a short period – from April to December 2023. The total cost of the project is more than 24 billion tenge. More than 20 permanent jobs will be created. According to the agreement with the investor, only local residents will work here. The power of the wind turbine is 48 megawatts.
In addition, in 2025, a project for the construction of a 50 MW wind power plant (Aspan Energo LLP) is also planned to be implemented in the city of Arkalyk. Financing of KGP "Kostanay Electroservice" in the period from 2021 to 2023 totaled more than 400 million tenge (2021 – 178.2 million tenge, 2022 – 36.5 million tenge, 2023 – 191.1 million tenge).
The commissioning of the wind farm in Arkalyk is an important event for the region. The plant will improve the reliability of energy supply, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create new jobs. In addition, it is planned to implement another project for the construction of a 50 MW wind farm. This will further increase the share of renewable energy sources in the energy balance of the region.
