The president was given a report on the socio-economic development of Kostanay region last year.

The governor of the region reported that by the end of 2023, there is a positive dynamics in the main macroeconomic growth indicators of the region. In particular, the manufacturing industry increased by 11%, construction-by 7%, investments in fixed assets-by 8.5%, transport transportation-by 3%, Housing commissioning-by 5%.

According to Kumar Aksakalov, the share of industry in the gross regional product exceeded 30%. Especially the line of car models produced at the local machine-building enterprise is increasing. "SARYARKAAVTOPROM" LLP started implementing an investment project worth 23 billion tenge for the assembly of 30 thousand Chevrolet Opih cars per year. As a result, 400 new jobs will be created. The construction of the KIA machine-building plant has also begun. The joint project with the Korean automaker attracted investments in the amount of 90 billion tenge. Within the framework of this project, it is planned to produce 70 thousand vehicles per year and create 1.5 thousand new jobs. In addition, it is planned to build a localization Center for the production of spare parts for cars. The cost of the project is 13 billion tenge.

In addition, the president was informed about the progress of water supply in Kostanay region, the construction of social facilities. According to the governor of the region, last year 69 projects worth 21 billion tenge were implemented to provide water to settlements. To date, 37 projects have been fully implemented. As a result, the indicator of water supply to the population of the region reached 86.6%, and currently 347 villages consume clean drinking water.

Today, three schools with a total capacity of 1,980 students are being built in the region. The palace of schoolchildren "IQostanay" was opened in the Regional Center. The center has created conditions for the comprehensive development of 1300 children. In addition, it is planned to build 9 Modern schools for 7,500 children by 2025. Of these, 8 educational institutions will be commissioned within the framework of the "comfortable school" project.

Kumar Aksakalov said that in accordance with the instructions of the head of state, a feasibility study is currently being developed for the construction of the main gas pipeline from Aktobe region to Kostanay. This project will not only provide settlements of Kostanay region with blue fuel, but also create favorable conditions for the implementation of large investment projects. Increasing the volume of gas supply will allow the implementation of several projects, including the construction of factories for the production of hot briquetted iron and steel smelting. In turn, this will stimulate the economy of the region and create new jobs.

At the end of the meeting, the head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the governor of the region to take the issues of holding the heating season in a normal mode, timely implementation of the project to provide the region with gas under special control together with the government, as well as work out the preparation for the spring sowing campaign.
