In accordance with the instruction of the Head of State Tokayev K.K., a working group was established at the Akimat of Kostanay region, which considered a number of proposals from the public and interested state bodies on the further use of the regional residence.

As a result, the working group decided to organize a rehabilitation center on the basis of the regional residence, designed for children with disabilities with neuropsychiatric pathologies and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. The new center will provide a set of necessary special social services that are aimed at improving health and social rehabilitation measures. The rehabilitation time will now be increased from 14 days to 21 days.

To date, rehabilitation for children with disabilities in the field of social protection of the population is carried out only at the Kostanay regional rehabilitation center.

The Children's department was opened in September 2021.  In 2022, 191 children underwent 14-day rehabilitation.

About 2 thousand children with neuropsychiatric pathologies and disorders of the musculoskeletal system live in the region.

The rehabilitation center will significantly increase the coverage of rehabilitation activities — at least 900 children aged 1.5 to 18 years with disabilities annually.

The center provides the services of a speech therapist, a speech pathologist, a rehabilitologist, as well as massage, physical therapy, and hydrotherapy.

In order to convert the residence into a rehabilitation center, it is planned to allocate appropriate funds from the local budget to ensure the accessibility of buildings for children with disabilities and equip them with the necessary rehabilitation equipment.

This year, funds will be allocated for the development of design and estimate documentation for the reconstruction of the facility and the start of construction and installation work.
