The implementation of the state youth policy is one of the important directions of the development of strategic resources of the society. To date, the number of young people in Kostanay region is 29% (242,896 people) of the population.
In the region, the youth unemployment rate is 2.9% with the republican indicator of 3.8%. Since the beginning of 2023, about 1300 young people have been assisted in employment in Kostanay region.
According to the program "With a diploma to the village", it is planned to issue budget loans to 211 specialists this year. It is also planned to issue lifting allowances to 435 specialists.
In 2022, 122 units of rental housing for young healthcare professionals were allocated from the state housing fund. In addition, during 2022, 111 youth representatives received housing within the framework of state programs.
Last year, the Akimat of Kostanay region developed a regional program "Zhas Shanyrak". In 2023, the geography of the program is expanding in all cities and districts of Kostanay region.
To solve the housing problems of young people, a Student House for 206 places has been opened in the regional center, this year it is planned to complete a dormitory by Kostanay Regional University for 324 places.

The manufacturing industry occupies 64.2% of the total industrial structure of the region, the largest share is occupied by mechanical engineering – 49.2%, food – 26.0% and metallurgy – 18.2%.
Over the past five years, the number of enterprises in the manufacturing sector has increased from 599 to 706 units, and the number of employees at these enterprises has increased by 20.1% and amounted to about 13 thousand people. Positive dynamics in the manufacturing industry is also observed this year.
The implementation of investment projects directly affects the industry of the region, the akimat will continue to search for new investment projects aimed at increasing production and production of new types of products.
