Sowing campaign-2022: how the Kostanay region is preparing for spring field work

The readiness of the Kostanay region for spring field work was discussed at a meeting in the regional akimat. This year, the sown area will be more than five million hectares. This was announced by Deputy Akim of Kostanay region Arman Abenov.
This year, the sown area in the region will amount to 5 million 173 thousand hectares, including winter crops of more than 37 thousand. Spring sowing is planned to be placed on an area of more than four million hectares, cereals and legumes - 3 million 928 thousand hectares, oilseeds - 651.7 thousand hectares, buckwheat 12.2 thousand hectares, potato area increased to 4,426 hectares, and the area of vegetables will be 1724 hectares. There is also an increase in the area. All this, as they are sure in the cloud, will allow providing the population of the region with socially significant food products.
"In the future, the diversification of the structure of sown areas will be aimed at full self-sufficiency of the population of the region for all agricultural crops, special attention will be paid to the provision of socially significant food products. This is a very difficult, painstaking work, it is necessary to conduct individual explanatory work with agricultural producers and with the population on a daily basis," A. Abenov said.
According to the deputy akim of the region, taking into account the lessons of the last three years, local farmers are recommended to use drought-resistant crops and varieties of agricultural crops.
"In 2021, 1,447 hectares of irrigated land were introduced in the region, the total area was 6.5 thousand hectares (fodder, potatoes and vegetables were grown). It is planned to introduce another 1,420 hectares this year," A. Abenov informed. – One of the main tasks in the crop industry is to further increase the volume of mineral fertilizers. Last year, due to unfavorable weather conditions, 69 thousand tons of moisture were deposited. This year it is necessary to introduce them into the soil at least 80 thousand tons."
As for the equipment involved, more than 20 thousand tractors, 22 thousand seeders, 1,200 high-performance sowing complexes and other agricultural machinery will participate in the sowing of agricultural crops.
"Currently, agricultural producers are working on the preparation of a machine and tractor fleet. Today, the readiness of the main agricultural machinery is 87%," he summed up.
The daily task for the sowing campaign, which will amount to 266 thousand hectares, was also announced to farmers. This, as the local authorities are sure, will allow, in accordance with the recommendations of science, to carry out sowing in the optimal time.

Also this year in Kostanay region it is planned to increase the level of renewal of basic agricultural machinery to 3.5%.
"In 2021, the farms of the region purchased 533 tractors, 299 combines, 128 sowing complexes and 743 units of other agricultural machinery. As a result, the renewal of basic agricultural machinery amounted to 3.2%. This year it is planned to reach the level of renewal up to 3.5%," he said.
A. Abenov recalled that agricultural machinery is dynamically developing in the region, production of tractors "MTZ", "Lovol", "Kirovets", grain harvesters "Yesil" has been established. According to the results of 2021, 415 Kirovtsev tractors, 529 Lovol tractors, 1009 MTZ tractors, 402 Yesil combines were assembled.
Also, 71 thousand tons of preferential diesel fuel will be allocated to agricultural producers of the region for spring field work.
"This year it is necessary to ensure production at the level of favorable years – in terms of yield, gross harvest and other indicators," Akim of the region Archimedes Mukhambetov instructed following the meeting.
