The region’s teachers discussed the issue on digitalization and opportunities for the development of the education system in the Kostanay region in the conditions of the fourth industrial revolution today at the August meeting with the participation of the akim, Arkhimed Mukhambetov.
As Olga Kiseleva, deputy head of the regional education department, reported, in order to digitize the sphere automation of the queues for child care places remains one of the primary tasks. Means are provided for the transfer of this process to the electronic regimeт in Kostanay, Lisakovsk, Rudny, Zhitikarinsky, Kamystinsky and Kostanay districts. At present, according to Kiseleva, the issue of connecting to this system through the JSC National Information Technologies is being solved. "Today, the network of the region accounts for 1,285 organizations, connected into a single national database, including 506 general schools. During the summer period of the current year, the school network was reduced by 8 units because of the non-compliance with the national standard. At the same time, this problem is typical for another 108 schools in the region, the deputy head of the department said. - A typical problem of the region is a large number of small schools - 68%. The Ministry of Education and Science introduced a proposal to unite such schools with colleges in order to create a single structure for the "Boarding School-College" for rational use of the MTB, budgetary funds, and in general, improving the quality of training." O. Kiseleva noted the obvious role of digitalization in improving the quality of education. In this issue, access to the Internet plays a significant role.
Not all schools in Kostanay region are connected to high-speed Internet. "All schools in the region are connected to the Internet, but of them, only 291 schools, or 57.1%, are connected to the high-speed Internet. The task is to provide high-speed Internet for 85% of schools by end of this year", - O. Kiseleva reported. In addition to the automation queues for childcare places, admission to the first classes of schools, the department plans to work on transferring other services in educational sphere (38) to electronic mode. Therefore, such increased attention is paid to material and technical equipment, updating of the computer park. For further digitalization by September 1, 22 IT-class-rooms are planned to be opened at the expense of sponsors. 15.9 million tenge were allocated from the regional budget for payments for teachers in these classes. At present 3 IT-class-rooms are open, 11 more rooms are planned to be opened by September 1. "The established Specialized boarding lyceum-school for information technologies "Ozat" is ready for opening, for which 178 million tenge were allocated from the regional budget. Here, 189 schoolchildren from different regions of the region will study. The task of this school is to become a talent tool to prepare future IT specialists capable of creating convenient and easy-to-use electronic applications, to introduce a system of early profiling of children", - Kiseleva said. The akim of the region also spoke on the work of the new school "Ozat". Arkhimed Mukhambetov noted that the new school is designed to train and educate talented children from the region's districts, who have demonstrated their abilities in the field of natural and mathematical disciplines, information and communication technologies. "For the successful adaptation of our children in the information space, time proposes to go forward, not waiting for instructions and assignments, and seek new ways and offer solutions to problems ourselves. To equalize the abilities of teachers in the city and the village, active work is being done to increase the access of schools in the region to high-speed Internet. A systematic plan for updating the computer park until 2020 is also developed. All these measures will give teachers the opportunity to have equal access to digital educational resources and information space. After all, the final result of the teacher's work is the quality education of students, and therefore, their consistency and competitiveness", - concluded A. Mukhambetov.
