Arkhimed Mukhambetov spoke about plans for the development of education in the region

The akim of the Kostanay region Arkhimed Mukhambetov defined the main priorities of the region's education sphere, speaking at the August meeting in the regional philharmonic society. One of the main priorities, as the head of the region noted, is financing - continuous and large-scale investments. The budget of the education sphere of the region this year is 68.7 billion tenge, which is more than last year's 7.7 billion tenge. "This year, at the expense of the regional budget, 7 educational facilities are being overhauled for a total of 769.8 million tenge, 4 of them have already been completed. Construction of a secondary school for 900 places in the "Airport" district of Kostanay is also ongoing. For this purpose 800 million tenge were allocated from the regional budget. To complete the construction, additional 769.4 million tenge is necessary, which is planned to be allocated from the republican budget at the end of this year when the budget is adjusted", - akim of the region informed. Also, according to A. Mukhambetov, there is already developed design estimate documentation for the construction of 4 schools for 320 seats each with the state language of learning instead of 3 dangerous buildings in Amangeldy, Auliyekol and Karasu districts, and also due tot the need of 1 school with the state language of learning in the Karabalyk district.

The construction of these schools is planned to begin next year at the expense of the republican budget. "We are also working to identify dangerous school buildings, and schools requiring major repairs in order to bring all the schools of the region in line with modern requirements. However, in the districts of the region, it is necessary to address the construction of schools within the framework of public-private partnership, especially in Kostanay, where there are schools with three-shift training because of a shortage of places", - the head of the region noted. As a positive example, the akim provided the construction and reconstruction of kindergartens. At present, the coverage of children from 3 to 6 years is 99.7%; the coverage of children from preschool education from 1 to 6 years is 91.2%. By 2020, it is planned to reach 100% coverage of preschool education in the region. Within the framework of PPP in the region, it is planned to open 7 additional preschool organizations for 1580 places for a total of 3.5 bln. tenge. "The principle of PPP is also considered when implementing the third initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Three hostels are planned for building in the region - 2 for 500 places each, 1 for 250 seats - for Kostanay colleges (Kostanay Polytechnic College of Higher Education, Kostanay College of Motor Transport, Kostanay Medical College). For these purposes, 42.6 million tenge were allocated from the regional budget for the development of design estimates. It is also planned to build hostels for Kostanay State University named after Akhmet Baitursynov (500 places) and Kostanay State Pedagogical University (344 places). At present, the design and estimate documentation have been developed in KSU, the development of the DED in the Kostanay Pedagogical Institute is being finalized", - akim said.
