ARKALYK IS PREPARING FOR A NEW TAKEOFF: RECONSTRUCTION OF THE AIRPORT HAS STARTED

Arkalyk airport has received a chance for a second life - a large-scale restoration program has been launched in Kostanay region. These steps are part of a broad initiative to modernize the transport infrastructure, which promises major changes for the entire region.

"The development of aviation and transport logistics is the key to the territorial connectivity of the country and equal opportunities for all regions," said President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the last National Kurultai. These words are being translated into reality in Kostanay region, where, on behalf of the Head of State, the Arkalyk airport reconstruction project is being implemented.

The air hub will soon resume flights. The rehabilitation project has not only regional, but also strategic importance: it is important both for improving transport accessibility and in the context of government policy on infrastructure development.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, who recently visited the region on a working visit, noted the strategic importance of the ongoing projects and stressed the importance of developing transport infrastructure and increasing population mobility.

"Kazakhstan has a wide potential in the transport industry and should become a key transit hub in the region. We are consistently developing the appropriate infrastructure - this is a strategic task. We have all the necessary resources and capabilities. It is important to implement projects as soon as possible, without loss of quality. This will give a serious impetus to the development of the regions and will become an important tool for economic diversification," said Olzhas Bektenov.

The Prime Minister instructed to complete the reconstruction of the airport this year.

"The airport will return Arkalyk to the status of a connecting center between the Southern regions of the region and key cities of the country. This is not just a matter of logistics, it is a step towards new opportunities for business, tourism, security and sustainable development," said Akim of Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov.

The opinion about the need to restore the local airport has long been expressed by the citizens.

"The residents of Arkalyk, especially the youth, have been encouraged by the attention being paid to our city today. We are sincerely grateful to the Head of State for the support and initiatives aimed at the development of the regions. The projects outlined by the President at the kurultai open up new prospects for Arkalyk, create conditions for economic growth and the emergence of new jobs. This gives confidence in the future and stimulates the younger generation to actively participate in the life of the city and the country," said Daniyar Kozhakhmetov, a participant in the patriotic campaign "Orkendey ber, Tugan olkem."
