Information center on TBT/SPS measures
In connection with the forthcoming accession of Kazakhstan to the world trade organization to implement article 10 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 9, 2004 "About technical regulation" and in accordance with the decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 11, 2005 №718 "On approval of Rules of creation and functioning of Information center on technical barriers in trade, sanitary and phytosanitary measures" on the basis of Republican state enterprise "Kazakhstan Institute of standardization and certification" establish an Information centre on technical barriers to trade, sanitary and phytosanitary measures.
The main functions of the TBT/SPS Clearing house are:
1) interaction with the WTO Secretariat, WTO member countries, and international organizations in order to provide interested parties and foreign States with copies of documents and information on:
existing or being developed technical regulations, standards, sanitary and phytosanitary measures (hereinafter-SPS measures), changes to them and procedures for confirming the conformity of products, services;
membership or participation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in international organizations and international agreements on standardization, SPS measures, conformity assessment, accreditation of bilateral and multilateral nature;
sources of publication of projects developed and adopted technical regulations, SPS measures, standards or information about them.
2) Publication of information in the official printed publication of the authorized body in the field of technical regulation and in the public information system in the form of a notification and on the following websites:
World trade organization www.wto.kz;
Committee on technical regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan www.memst.kz;
RSE "Kazakhstan Institute of standardization and certification" www.kazinst.kz;
