In the Address to the People of Kazakhstan dated September 1, 2020, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan instructed to plant 2 billion trees in the forest fund for the next 5 years.
According to the results of the meeting on the implementation of the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held under the chairmanship of Vice – Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources Nysanbayev E. N., the volume of reproduction for 2021-2025 was brought to 28762.5 hectares or planting 160.61 million trees for the Kostanay region. In this connection, a Comprehensive plan for forest reproduction and afforestation of the Kostanay region for 2021-2025 was developed, approved by the akim of the Kostanay region A. Mukhambetov.
The main breeds in the region are common pine, hanging birch. So, in the spring of 2021, forest management institutions planted forest crops on an area of 682.1 hectares (with a plan of 677 hectares) and planted 4072.1 thousand trees (plan-3981.6 thousand).
