Documenting citizens. Answers to popular questions

One of the most popular and socially significant services in Public Service Centers is the documentation of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan (up to 2 million citizens are documented annually).

Passports and identity cards for citizens are issued through the information system "Registration point "Documentation and registration of the population".

If earlier documents were issued on paper, a citizen brought his photo with him, now this service is automated. Photographing is done through the information system, directly at the time of registration and without payment.

Amenities have been introduced for citizens – the principle of extraterritoriality is applied. This means that you can apply to any PSC of the republic for registration of a passport or identity card, regardless of registration at the place of residence

All PSC's have implemented an online payment service for state duty by means of a QR code directly when making an electronic application for a passport or identity card, which has reduced the time for servicing citizens.

Work has also been completed on the integration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system for documenting citizens with the information system of the Ministry of Justice "IS Registry Office", to obtain information about acts of civil status. Now the migration service employees will receive all information about the change of the installation data from the system. This eliminated paper correspondence with the bodies of the RAGS to confirm the issuance of documents on the change of surname or other data, and will also allow to identify fake birth certificates, name change and other data.

Currently, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as part of the automation of public services, together with the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry and the NAO State Corporation "Government for Citizens", are working on the implementation of the service on early notification of citizens about the expiration of an identity card by sending SMS, which will reduce violations by citizens, in terms of late replacement of expired identity cards.

When implementing this service, the population will be notified through the mass media.
