In order to implement the state policy in the field of forestry, the Department carried out planned fire-fighting, reforestation, forestry, and forest protection measures in 2022. (The fire season of 2022 in Kostanay region lasted from April 4 to November 14).
In order to fulfill the instructions of the Head of State on planting 2 billion trees, a Comprehensive Plan for Forest reproduction and Afforestation in Kostanay region for 2021-2025 (hereinafter referred to as the Plan) was approved, the indicators of which are included in the national project "Zhasyl Kazakhstan".
In just 5 years, it is planned to plant 168.4 million trees on an area of 28.8 thousand hectares.
In 2022, the planned planting volumes are 24.4 million pieces on an area of 4.3 thousand hectares, 17.1 million seedlings were actually planted on an area of 2.7 thousand hectares.
Due to the lack of the necessary forest and cultural fund, 4.3 thousand hectares of reserve lands were found in 2022 and transferred to the state forest fund lands (Akimat resolution of March 9, 2022).

To ensure the protection of forests, preparation and strengthening of the material and technical base of forestry is carried out annually before the start of the fire season within the framework of available funding.
For the period from 2019 to 2021, forestry and fire-fighting equipment worth 7.0 million tenge (plows, a planting machine, knapsack sprayers, motor pumps, water tanks) were purchased at the expense of budgetary funds. In 2022, 121.7 million tenge was allocated from the local budget (2 water dispensers, forestry and fire-fighting equipment).
From their own funds received from paid services in 2022, forestry institutions purchased 2 tractor trailers, 2 PTS-6.5, 3 service vehicles, forestry and fire-fighting equipment in the amount of 73.7 million tenge.

In order to prevent fire last year, the device of mineralized strips was carried out – 581 km, with a plan of 568 km. (the plan was exceeded by 13 km), the care was carried out in full.
Due to the lack of specialized equipment, work on the device of fire breaks in full was not carried out by forestry institutions (stumps were not uprooted). In order to fully implement measures to cut fire breaks at the expense of funds from paid services, three rooters were purchased in 2022, however, due to the lack of hydraulic boosters on the market, these rooters were not put into operation.
In this regard, this year it is planned to acquire
