Basic rules of electrical safety

One of the features of electric current is that it is invisible, has no smell or color, so a person cannot detect it without special devices. An electric current strikes suddenly when a person is "included" in the current flow circuit. In this case, the current damages the tissues along the entire path of its passage through the human body.

Electric shock can also occur when approaching an unacceptably close, dangerous distance to live parts under voltage, as well as when a person gets under the so-called "step voltage" that occurs in the area of falling to the ground wires of existing power lines.

Electric current is especially dangerous for children and adolescents, since they are physically more sensitive to its effects. At the same time, electricity surrounds us everywhere. Transformer substations (TP) or distribution points (RP) are located on the territories of residential areas, schools, kindergartens, in everyday life we use various electrical devices that can pose a danger to the life and health of children. If some fall under the action of electric current by chance or elementary ignorance of the rules of electrical safety, for example, stepping on broken wires, then others fall under voltage, trying to find non-ferrous metals in existing electrical installations.

In order to avoid cases of child injuries, including from electric shock, we ask you to pay special attention to teaching children safety rules.

Here are the main requirements of these rules:

do not open the doors of electrical cabinets, assemblies, flaps;
do not approach and do not touch TP and RP, go inside them, as well as climb on the roof;
do not touch or approach fallen and broken bare wires of cable and overhead power lines;
do not play under power lines, do not launch "kites", do not use places near electrical installations and equipment under voltage for games;
do not pinch the wires with doors, window frames, fix the wires on nails so as not to damage the insulation and there are no short circuits;
do not check the presence of electric current in devices or wires with your fingers;
do not allow children to play at outlets, stick pins, pins into them, pull wires, as this may lead to electric shock;
when turning on and off the devices, you need to take the plug by the plastic pad, not by the wire.
