This information is intended to help you understand the basic principles of brucellosis control both in large livestock farms and in the private sector.
To establish a diagnosis of brucellosis, it is necessary to carry out a complex of laboratory tests:
1 stage is the use of serological tests (reaction RSK/RDSK, RBP, RA), officially recommended by the World Organization of Animal Health for the study of blood from each animal individually. At this stage, the status of the animal for brucellosis is determined, it can be (no brucellosis pathogen was found it the body), doubtful (the animal must be examined after 15-20 days) with the same serological tests, positive (the pathogen of brucellosis was found in the body the animal), such an animal is sent to a sanitary battle no later than 15 calendar days after receiving the result of the study, followed by the selection of biological material (parenchymal organs, lymph nodes) for bacteriological research (bioassay) and the PCR method (polymerase chain reaction);
2 stage – Bacteriological research and the PCR method are user to confirm previously conducted serological tests (reaction RSK/RDSK, RBP, RA), as well as to determine the status of an item (herd, decoctions) for brucellosis. In case of confirmation of serological tests, an unfavorable point opens, in case of a negative result, additional diagnostic tests are carried out.
3 stage – Additional diagnostic studies are carried out in the remaining livestock of animals of this exotic unit, which previously gave a negative result. Studies are carried out twice with an interval of 15-20 calendar days.
