Apprehension of State Border Violators

On April 13, 2020, two citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan were detained for violation border regime in the Almaty region.

These persons were engaged in the extraction of rare plant species. During the inspection, they were found to have in their possession devices for digging and more than 2.5 kg of “Fritillaria pallidiflora” roots.

Currently, the authorized bodies are conducting an examination of the removed roots. In the case of confirmation of the plant species, offenders will be prosecuted under Article 339 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Illegal handling of rare and endangered species, as well as prohibited from use species of plants or animals, their parts or derivatives”.
