Detention of Poachers

On April 11, 2020, in the framework of the “Bekire” large-scale fisheries protection action 4 citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic were detained for illegal fishing in the Caspian Sea by the Department of the Border Service of the National Security Committee in Mangystau region.

 

In the course of investigative actions, tools for fishing, as well as an F-1 hand grenade were seized from detainees.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against these persons under Article 392 (Intentional illegal crossing of the State border of the Republic of Kazakhstan), Article 287 part 3 (Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The investigation is ongoing.
