The NSC Suppressed a Channel for the Illegal Export of Saker Falcons

As a result of operational and search measures the illegal activities of a number of transnational groups were suppressed by the National Security Committee in Shymkent, Mangistau, Zhambyl and Turkestan regions.

The suspects have long been engaged in the illegal capture of the red book Saker Falcons for their subsequent smuggling through the Kazakh-Uzbek and Kazakh-Kyrgyz borders to the countries of the Middle East.

According to experts, the damage caused from the illegal activities of these criminal groups to the state is estimated at several billion tenge.

The criminal cases have been instituted against the organizers and participants under paragraphs 2 and 3 of Article 339 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Investigative measures are ongoing.
