The Detention of Chinese Citizens Print page

On November 19, 2019, the Department of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atyrau region, with the approval of a specialized investigative court in the city of Atyrau, detained and placed in a pre-trial detention center two Chinese citizens for giving a bribe to an authorized employee of the National Security Committee in the amount of two million tenge.

The bribe was intended for a positive consideration of the administrative case in court with regard to a foreigner who illegally carried out labor activities in Atyrau city.

In addition, the bribe giver offered a monthly monetary reward in the amount of two hundred thousand tenge for further general patronage of Chinese citizens.

The detainees confessed.

Investigative measures are conducted.
