INTUITION REWARD

INTUITION REWARD

When inspecting another passenger car, this time of the Mercedes-Benz-200 brand, shift leader Assel Mukusheva intuitively felt that the driver was worried, although, at first glance, there was no reason for this. A visual inspection of the car reinforced the suspicions that had arisen. The controller’s experience suggested where to look. The border guards dismantled the casing and found what they were looking for - the smug-gling cargo was a record.

... It happened in the «Aul» border control department (auto-mobile), where one day in November 2003, Lieutenant Assel Mukusheva entered the service as a senior change of the border detachment for inspection of vehicles. Either the drug carriers hoped for an easy passage across the border, or someone was «nervous» and decided to go for broke. But it didn’t work out. The scales of the border guards were loaded with about 10 kilograms of heroin and more than 47 kilograms of raw opium.

After 12 days, Assel Mukusheva again caught a big catch. The sight of the GAZ-3110 car traveling from Kyrgyzstan to Russia immediately aroused suspicion among the senior shift. The border guard turned out to be right this time too - a cache was set up in the back of the cabin, from which more than 21 kilograms of heroin were seized.

Such large finds were not uncommon in the career of officer Mukusheva. Literally every week, in the reports of the detentions of border violators and smugglers, the characters she detained appeared. Searches alternated with the seizure of contraband, and with them experience was accumulated.

Repeatedly, Assel Mukusheva received threats of physical violence; there were even rumors that an order had been received for her. However, the fragile-looking girl could not be intimidated; the officer did not deviate from her principles. Loyal to the border fraternity, she put her professionalism at the service of the fight against the criminal business.

... Assel was born in the village of Georgievka, Zharma district, Semi-palatinsk region. After graduating from Shakarim Semipalatinsk State University, she developed a desire to serve on the border. But it was not easy for the girl to get into the Border Troops. And then luck smiled at her - the KNB Military Institute announced the recruitment of girls for one-year courses. Assel was not going to miss such a chance. Everything went well for her in the exams.…

And then there were hard days in the army - you can’t call it any other way to study at a military university. The workload was great; She had to get a lot of knowledge and skills. And if the girl cadets coped with the theory quite easily, then with physical activity it was more difficult. Military skills are not for fragile girls’ shoulders - in the morning, getting up, jogging and cleaning weapons without bonuses and curtsies, and in the evening everyone was waiting for an obstacle course. But most of the girls did not choose the path of a man in epaulettes by chance; many of them have been preparing for it almost all their lives.

Therefore, when they together overcame all difficulties, Assel graduat-ed with excellent results. And in the first officer rank, she was sent to serve in the border control department «Oskemen» for the position of an officer on the organization of the border control change service.

Assel Mukusheva liked the service, because from the first days she es-tablished herself as a competent specialist, at the same time being ready to master new skills. The girl left the walls of the institute with a solid store of knowledge, and yet she was not averse to learning something new from her comrades in the service. And, commanders and colleagues noted Assel’s talent as a psychologist.

She instantly determined by the behavior of a person his mood; not a single detail escaped her attentiveness.

For merits in the protection of the State Border of the Republic of Ka-zakhstan, Lieutenant Assel Mukusheva was awarded the medal «Shekarana uzdik kuzetkeni ushin». This is the highest departmental award, which is awarded for a significant contribution to border protection, and such a high assessment of military work speaks of the really phenomenal ability of a young officer to identify an intruder from huge passenger traffic at a check-point. In her case it is to recognize drug carriers and block the road to the deadly poison.

Today, Major Assel Mukusheva, having worked at almost all check-points in the Ust-Kamenogorsk direction, having tried her hand at specialization in railway and air transport, serves at the headquarters of the Department as a senior officer of educational structures.

So, the time has come to pass on her knowledge and experience to the new generation of border control servicemen: to educate new specialists who stand in the way of border violators and smugglers, whose flow has not yet dried up.

Assel is the mother of two teenage children. The daughter goes to col-lege and the son goes to school. Assel devotes all her free time to them, although the officer-educator does not have that much of it.
