By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan E.Rahmon No. 252 dated September 30, 2021 in honor of the 30th anniversary of the State independence of the Republic and for the displayed courage and dedication in the line of duty, junior sergeant Batrkanov Rajan Armievich was awarded the Order of “Spitamen”, 1st degree (posthumously).
The fraternal people of Tajikistan remember and honor the courage and heroism of the servicemen of the Separate Joint Rifle Battalion, who performed their military duty on the Tajik-Afghan border in the period from 1993 to 2001.

For reference: Batrkanov Rajan Armievich (1975-1994) warrior-internationalist, hero-border guard. Served as a member of the Kurchum platoon of a separate Kazakhstani consolidated battalion.
On September 28, 1994, at the site of the Khorog border detachment, a serious military confrontation took place with more than two hundred Khakim militants from the Tajik opposition, who were trying to break through at the junction of the 5th and 6th border outposts in the Viskhorov gorge.
The personnel of the Kazakhstan Consolidated Battalion took an active part in this battle.
Khakim's militants in 9 trucks and two “UAZ” vehicles rushed through the regional center Kalai-Khumb towards Khorog along the state border, intending to cross over to the Islamic State of Afghanistan. The movement of the convoy was led by a militant nicknamed "Black Hand" (later "Khattab" international terrorist, leader of the Chechen separatists, who participated in hostilities against Russian federal forces in Chechnya from 1995 to 2002).
In this battle, R.A. Batrkanov, at the cost of his life, saved his colleagues and determined the success of the battle.
